News: Royal Cornwall Show Announces New Secretary

The Royal Cornwall Show Announces New Secretary

Last Autumn the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA) announced that their long-standing Secretary, Christopher Riddle, would be retiring after 35 years at the helm, and a total of 45 years with the Association.

This started the long and thorough process of appointing a new secretary for the first time in over three decades, and renowned specialist recruiters Hanover Fox were appointed to oversee this important process.

The Association is therefore delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Stoddart, currently Society Manager at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. Mark joins us with over 18 years of experience delivering the Great Yorkshire Show, one of the biggest agricultural events in the country, as well as previously holding the position of National Chairman of the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO) and a number of other related roles.

The RCAA look forward to welcoming Mark and his wife Amanda to Cornwall. Mark will experience the 2024 Royal Cornwall Show by shadowing the current Secretary, before joining permanently in August, and officially taking over the Secretary’s role from Chris Riddle when he retires at the end of September.
