News: DOES YOUR HORSE NEED A DISTRACTION?

DOES YOUR HORSE NEED A DISTRACTION?

In the wild horses would normally graze for up to 18 hours a day but often due to lack of space or convenience, horses are often kept stabled for long periods with limited access to grazing. This can lead to all manor of behavioural and digestive issues.

Likit know that every horse has its own personality and as such have developed a range of toys to suit every horse. Some horses are highly food motivated or playful and require a very challenging  toy such as our Boredom Breaker or Boredom Buster whilst other horses are less adventurous and  would benefit from something easy to use like our Likit Holder. Each of our activity toys can be used

with a lick (the Likit) which are available in a wide variety of different flavours from the more  traditional Apple, Carrot & Mint to the slightly wackier Banana and Cherry and many more...

These licks are designed to keep the horse playing with the toy for longer, thus helping to relieve boredom  and stress as well as helping them to perform that all important licking and chewing which  stimulates saliva, important to digestive health. The newest addition to the range is our Likit

Granola, a long-lasting lick, jam-packed with tasty grains including; maize, wheat, barley and oats, it almost looks good enough to eat ourselves!  For more information on the Likit range, visit www.likit.co.uk

Bizzy Horse

A versatile horse needs a versatile toy

Why have one toy when you can have three?! The Bizzy Ball is an innovative equine toy that can be used in three different ways; on the ground, hanging or on the wall (wall bracket sold separately), each providing a different challenge for the horse.

Offering variety in the stable is really important to ensure your horse’s health & wellbeing. Horses are grazing animals so keeping them stabled for long periods can often place stress on their digestive systems as well as their mental health. Once the necessities have been met (e.g. forage, fresh water, clean bed, exercise and company), offering a lick/toy combo not only helps to keep them ‘bizzy’ but also encourages the horse to lick and chew promoting salivation, beneficial to their digestive system.

There are four delicious flavours of Bizzy Lick to use with the Bizzy Ball. These licks are 1kg in weight and their rock-hard formulation makes them much longer lasting than similar products on the market. Choose from Original Apple, Mint or Garlic flavour.

Another innovative aspect of the he Bizzy Ball is the hidden compartment inside the ball with space for four scented sponges, these help keep the horse interested and engaged even once the lick has been finished. Each toy comes complete with a vial of Peppermint Oil so you can ‘refresh’ the sponges as and when required.

Bizzy Ball RRP £29.99, Bizzy Lick RRP £6.99, Bizzy Wall Bracket RRP £19.99.
